BIO ESTHETIC COLD LASER – from SWITZERLAND

DEFINITION OF LASER
The term LASER is an acronym for Light Amplification by Stimulated Emission of Radiation. Radiation, in this case, refers to the coherent light energy released, which produces the light beam.

TYPES OF LASERS
There are two types of lasers: High power laser “hot laser”
                                             Low power laser “cold lasers”

The thing that determines whether a machine is hot or cold is the amount of energy that comes from the machine. Hot lasers cause thermal (heat) changes and destroy tissues. They are only used in the medical field. Cold lasers do not cause thermal changes in the tissues therefore it is allowed to be used in salons and spas by Estheticians.

LASER LIGHT VS DAYLIGHT
A laser is a device that emits a special form of light.  The light is special because it consists of light waves of a single wavelength, in which all the waves reinforce one another. (It is like heavy surf with large waves breaking on a beach instead of many small waves.) It is also called coherent light, where the waves reinforce one another.

Normal daylight is incoherent light and consists of varying wavelengths of all the colors of the rainbow, from blue (400 nanometers in length) to red (750 nanometers in length).

MONOCHROMATIC, SINGLE-WAVELENGTH LIGHT BEAMS

There are only two available methods of producing this type of light beam without introducing other wavelengths or impurities. The first is with a laser and the second is the light-emitting diode, or LED. The choice of material used in the construction of both devices determines which wavelength is produces. Both devices produce the monochromatic single-wavelength beam, but laser produces coherent light, while LED’s provide non-coherent light.

There two methods of wave production use very low power, compared to the high-powered lasers used in surgery, and are call “SOFT LASERS” “COLD LASERS” or “WEAK LASERS”. They only produce enough light power to stimulate cell tissue. They have been used over the past 25 years.

Professor Mester of Budapest University has made many experiments with animals and human cells to be able to explain the function of light on cells. The monochromatic light influences the DNA to use the lipoproteins in the treated areas, so the cell has better function, as well as to produce collagen and elastin. According to Dr. Mesters’ experiments it was the monochromatic light and not the coherence of the light that had more positive effect on cells.

Results show that when using photo-stimulation on cell tissue, it is the monochromatic single-wavelength feature that is more important to cellular response than whether a unit utilizes coherent or non-coherent aspect of light. They are completely harmless and they cannot be over-used.
